Working Title:

NATIVE STRAIN

Commercial Position:

Native Strain is a biological horror-thriller bridging the commercial accessibility of a survival thriller with the visceral transformation and scientific plausibility of body horror.

The film is built around an internationally accessible fear: an organism enters the human body and compromises the host’s nervous system, behavior and physical autonomy.

However, rather than relying on conventional supernatural mythology or a traditional zombie framework, the film presents infection as an evolving biological process, creating a sustained escalation from scientific discovery and initial exposure through psychological deterioration. The result is a genre film with a clear audience promise, suspense, fear, visceral transformation and survival, while maintaining a grounded scientific premise capable of differentiating it within the contemporary horror marketplace.

What happens when a biological organism doesn't merely infect you, it begins to use you.
